Your Pooch loves a holiday too, here are some tips for taking your dog on holiday with you, there is no reason why they can't come along too!

Time to get their bag packed!

Keep your pooch settled whilst in unfamiliar surroundings, try to keep to their regular routine (same walk times, food, toilet breaks).

  • Take familiar items like a blanket, favourite toys and treats.

  • Keep them on the same diet as at home, a sudden change can cause an upset stomach.

  • Get your dog clipped, washed or groomed before you leave.

  • Make sure your dog is restrained in the car with a harness or travel strap.

  • Introduce your dog to your cottage on a lead.

  • Take your dog’s bed and extra blankets.

  • Take extra dog towels.

  • Consider travel sickness tablets for your dog.

  • Don’t leave your dog alone.

  • Research dog-friendly cafes, pubs and attractions.

  • Water bottles

  • Toys to keep your dog occupied.

  • Collar and lead - ID tags with updated contact information

  • Waste bags

  • Any prescription medications and emergency medicine

  • Pet first aid kit

  • Take a copy of your dogs insurance certificate
